A Scary Truth: Containers Could be Adding Pounds

Please read this ARTICLE

There has been a great movement against the chemical Bisphenol- A, mentioned in this article, which has resulted in a surge of "BPA-free" products gracing the shelves of grocery stores.  Water bottles are most commonly seen with proud stickers boasting the lack of this toxin in the plastic, but the horrible and scary part about the results of this study is that products are STILL being sold that do contain BPA. This means that this metabolically-altering chemical can still be found in products that are available to the American public, and parents are still be buying them for their children without knowing the danger.

The link between BPA and adult obesity was correlated and followed by a study that showed the same results in a link between the chemical and childhood obesity.  Results: children with high levels of BPA in the system had twice the likelihood of being obese, and white children were more susceptible than other ethnicity (possibly due to genetics).  The chemical is also known to effect fetal and infant brain development.

We feel that BPA awareness has grown in recent years, but the fact that the chemical is still found in something as common and everyday as soda cans is a scary thought.  Please avoid canned products and plastic containers that contain BPA and please spread awareness.  The Food and Drug Administration should be protecting the American Public, but instead they have denied a ban of BPA (for more info click HERE), so it is time to take our health into our own hands.

How do you feel about the issue of BPA in our products?

  1. I knew they were bad for you, but I had no idea that it wrecked havoc on your system to that extent. Thank you so much for sharing, guys!!!
